Vietnam: Quang Ngai Rural Development Program, URS/AusAID, 2001 - 06

This 5 year program focuses on poverty alleviation, hunger eradication and encouraging economic stimulation in the central coast province of Quang Ngai. The program supports HRD and facilities to better enable growth in the rural sector, including the promotion of non-farm enterprise and employment.

The QNRDP brings together 3 inter-related participative development activities that are central to poverty alleviation and sustainability. They are:

  • Agricultural and non-farm enterprise development and environmental management;
  • Identification, design and monitoring of related small-scale rural infrastructure development; and,
  • Capacity building for rural development, including vocational and non-formal training.
