Human Rights Training: Officials from the Government of Iraq
During August, World Wide successfully delivered a four week training program in Australia on international human rights law to 19 officials of various agencies of the Government of Iraq and from several regions.
The program commenced in Sydney, then transferred to Canberra and finally Melbourne. The training is part of ongoing assistance to the Ministry of Human Rights on international human rights law, humanitarian law, the UN human rights instruments, human rights reporting obligations under international treaties as well as Australia’s human rights, justice and legal system. World Wide Director Paul Tippett was responsible for the overall management, working with a specialist Team Leader and World Wide support staff.
The program was funded by AusAID under the Rehabilitation Assistance Facility: Iraq (RAFI).
