CAGP Social Security working visit delegation (Nov 06) delivers final report
In November 2006, World Wide, in collaboration with the Australian National University, facilitated a working visit on the Long-Term Fiscal Impacts of Social Security, under the China Australia Governance Program (CAGP). The program was devised to enable participants to engage in policy and technical dialogue with experts and officials in Australian government agencies, academic institutions and other relevant groups.
This working visit of 15 delegates and one CAGP translator involved workshops and site visits in Canberra and Sydney. Delegates represented the PRC’s Budget Affairs Commission (BAC), Financial and Economic Committee (FEC) of the National People’s Congress (NPC), National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Finance (MOF), State Administration of Taxation (SAT), Research Institute of Fiscal Sciences (RIFS), China Health Economics Institute (CHEI), Budget Affairs Committee of Heilongjiang Provincial People’s Congress, Financial and Economic Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress and Shaanxi Provincial Department of Finance.
The delegation has now completed its “Social Security Budget and Its Long Term Impacts on Sustainable Fiscal Development Working Visit Report”, which clearly summarises the key findings and recommendations of the delegation. The report will be made available on the CAGP website, or can be made available upon request to the CAGP.
